Join us for a great event: Sand in the City!
What do you get when you mix over two hundred competitors, thousands of spectators, great food, live entertainment, over 40 hands-on art and science activities, master sand sculptors, and 240 tons of sand? It's Sand in the City - a free community event to benefit the Hands On Children's Museum! Last year's event drew 10 teams and over 43,000 visitors!
Here's the schedule:
August 22:
10am to 4pm: (free) Team Sand Sculpting Competition
5:15pm-7pm: Seaside Soireés (pre-registration required - 21 & over)
7pm-11pm: SandBlast! Evening Waterfront Gala (pre-registration required - 21 & over)
August 23rd
10am-8pm: FREE Community Beach Party (Suggested Donation $5 per Family)
August 24th
10am-4pm: FREE Grandparent's Day & Public Viewing/ All the fun of Saturday's Beach Party, plus special activities for grandparents!
Although the event is free, any donations, food and sotre sales, team entry fees, and sponsorships go to aiding in the support of the Museum's Free and Reduced admissions program.
