“On June 2, 16 volunteers from People For Puget Sound's Sound Stewardship Program, the Seattle Rotary Club, and other lively individuals devoted their morning to helping the Duwamish River Estuary at Puget Creek and Herring's House Park.

“The volunteers  pulled out herb-Robert and perennial pepperweed where it threatens to take over the native salt marsh plants in a restored habitat.  The workers filled 20 giant garbage bags with weeds and with their hard work contributed to the efforts to support the wildlife that use these nearshore sites for food and shelter.”
